I’ve become increasingly partial to brush pens these past few years. I really like the natural line varieties I can make with the pens, and unlike real brushes, they’re quite easy to bring with me wherever I go. I just wish they were easier to purchase, or had more varieties available locally. For now this is what I’m using, purchased from Japanese knickknack outlet Saizen.
Know of any other good brush pens I can purchase and try out?

My Surreal, Icky, Yucky Dream Last Night
I dreamt this last night, this exact moment. And that’s how I looked in my dream too. Which thankfully, I looked nothing like in real life. When I woke up, I had a brief moment of confusion, because I was torn between wanting to check to mirror to see if I was really looked like that, and running to the bathroom to brush my teeth.
I really ought to start keeping a dream journal. My girlfriend’s been telling me to do it for a while, after all. And I’ve regaled my friends with enough embarrassing/surreal/funny vivid dream imagery, I may as well share them with the rest of the world.
Karakuri
I spent the morning reading about Karakuri — Japanese automatons made using pulleys, wheels, and wooden gears from the Edo period. Elegant, impressive, amazing machines. This beautifully-shot video by Matthew Allard features one of the few remaining craftsmen that’s keeping this tradition alive.
